Brandon Biggs
Attorney At Law
Personal Experience
Brandon Biggs was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 2015, after moving to Michigan from Florida, and is an attorney and mediator at Biggs & Gunst.
Brandon attended college at Flagler College in St Augustine, Florida and received his Bachelors in Economics in 2010. Following his graduation from Flagler College, Brandon rode from Jacksonville, Florida to San Francisco, California on bicycle with an organization called Bike & Build, which raises money and awareness for affordable housing programs through cross country cycling trips. He was so moved by this experience, he took a position leading a second trip from Virginia Beach, Virginia to Cannon Beach, Oregon, following his first year of law school. On his second trip, Brandon experienced the loss of a friend and fellow leader on another of Bike & Build’s routes due to an inattentive driver. As a result, Brandon is dedicated to fighting for cyclists rights, and getting justice for those who have been injured in motor vehicles. It was also on this second trip across the country that Brandon met his wife, an Ann Arbor native, who would eventually bring them back to the area.
Brandon went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2013, where he specialized in maritime and admiralty law, with an emphasis in trial practice. In addition to growing up in and around the water in Florida, Brandon’s interest in maritime issues stem from the three years he worked aboard a 72’ tall ship during college. While at Roger Williams, Brandon served as co-chair of the Maritime Law Association, and had the privilege of working as a Sea Grant Law Fellow. In this time, he worked with local municipalities on clean energy issues, ultimately aiding the state in creating a comprehensive guide for municipalities interested in implementing clean energy initiatives.
Brandon spends his free time with his wife, Lizzy, and their Airedale, Opie. In addition to being an avid sailor and cyclist, Brandon is a car enthusiast. He enjoys working on cars, going on drives, and is in the process of rebuilding a vintage motorcycle in his spare time. Brandon also strives to be active in his service to his community, volunteering wherever he can. In 2017, Biggs & Gunst proudly sponsored a food drive for Food Gatherers, and Brandon rode his bicycle 150 miles across Michigan in a single day in order to raise money for juvenile diabetes.
